Mahindra has silently rebranded the Bolero Camper Gold as the ‘Camper Gold VX’. The Bolero Camper Gold is essentially a double cab pickup that has been on sale for the past couple of months and is targeted towards businessman and self-employed individuals who want a mix of utility and lifestyle segments in a single vehicle. Coming to the changes, there is nothing new on offer, except for the dual tone interiors and the new moniker.
The Mahindra Bolero Camper Gold VX packs in all the essential features such as air conditioning, power steering and can seat five in comfort. The payload capacity on the other hand is 710 kgs, while the cargo box measures 1481 mm in length, 1532 mm in width and 750 mm in height. You also get aesthetics on the outside like metallic colour schemes, radial tyres and double walled cargo box.
The Bolero Camper Gold VX is powered by the 2.6-litre MDI diesel engine that produces 63 HP of power and 195 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The pickup gets an independent front type suspension with coil springs, while the rear gets a rigid setup with leaf springs. Stopping power comes from disc brakes in the front and drum brakes at the rear. The Bolero also sports a ground clearance of 215 mm, which only adds to the pickup’s go anywhere capability.
The Camper Gold VX is on sale along with a number of versions of the Bolero as well as other commercial vehicles from Mahindra’s lineup. The company has positioned the pickup below the Genio Double Cab, which offers a more powerful engine and larger cargo space and payload capacity. The Bolero Camper Gold VX has been priced at Rs. 6.14 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune). Checkout the capabilities of the Bolero Camper Gold and its origin story in the video below.
