Mahindra will be launching the NuvoSport next week and has started a contest on its website to engage customers. Technical details of the car are out too.
Launching a new vehicle has become a tricky job these days. Getting the price and product mix right takes the best of the managers of an automotive company and then they have the task of customer engagement too. Due to the spread of internet, engaging the customer has become slightly easier. Mahindra is using the internet too before the launch of the NuvoSport.
Mahindra has started a ‘Bucket List’ contest on NuvoSport’s website wherein the participant has to answer a few questions to win an adventure sport vacation. There are pricing related questions too which will help the company get a fair idea of customer expectations in terms of pricing. The Indian carmaker is trying to position the NuvoSport as an adventure SUV.
Looking at the pricing question options, Mahindra has made it clear that the vehicle will be positioned above the TUV300. The NuvoSport will continue with the 1.5-litre engine seen on the Quanto but it will get driving modes. The Power mode will have 100 BHP of power and 240 Nm of torque on tap whereas the Eco mode will have 72 BHP of power and 180 Nm of torque.
The variant spread of the Mahindra NuvoSport will be as follows – N4, N4+, N6 and N8. The compact SUV will be the third such product in Mahindra’s lineup after the TUV300 and KUV100. Since it gets a more powerful engine and is expected to be pricier than the TUV, more equipment maybe offered too. We expect the starting price to be Rs. 7.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
