Mahindra has introduced the Maxximo Plus pick-up truck to its commercial vehicle portfolio in the Indian market. The Maxximo Plus is a different variant from the standard Maxximo and comes equipped with a new ‘Fuel Smart’ technology. According to the manufacturer, the Maxximo Plus is the only commercial vehicle available in India to be equipped with this advanced and easy to use technology which enables the driver to switch between Eco and Power mode, resulting in optimum mileage and performance as per the need of the driver.
With a press of a button, the driver can switch between higher power or higher fuel efficiency mode in the Mahindra Maxximo Plus. The 2-cylinder C2 CRDe diesel engine remains unchanged, producing a maximum power output of 26 HP, mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The Eco mode returns a fuel efficiency figure of 21.9 km/l with a reduced power output. The Maxximo Plus has a longer wheelbase and now comes with a seven leaf suspension setup at the rear for more sturdiness but we are not sure how the ride quality will be when the load is low.
The Maxximo pick-up truck can do a maximum speed of 70 km/hr. The utility manufacturer is offering a warranty of 2 years or 60,000 kms along with a zero maintenance offer for six months or 25,000 kms. For braking, the Maxximo Plus comes equipped with booster-assisted brakes and Load Sensing Proportionate Valves. Coming to the pricing, the Maxximo Plus BS3 version comes with a price tag of Rs. 3.40 lakhs (ex-showroom, Thane) and the BS4 version comes at Rs. 3.49 lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai).
