Mahindra Maxximo CNG Spotted

Mahindra is planning to launch a CNG version of the Maxximo mini-truck. The company had announced its plans to launch a CNG version of the Maxximo, way back when it launched the truck for the first time. We spotted the Maxximo CNG on test on Dehu road in Pune. It had alot of jerry cans to test the weight carrying capacity of the vehicle, as most owners will subject their trucks to such load. Currently the Maxximo is available with a 2-cylinder, 8-valve, CRDe motor which boasts of DOHC technology and produces 25 HP of power and 55 Nm of torque. Top speed is 70 kmph and the Maxximo can carry 850 kgs in its loading bay.

Mahindra offers free maintenance on the Maxximo for one year or 40,000 kms (which ever is earlier). The Maxximo is currently manufactured at Mahindra’s Chakan plant. The Maxximo CNG will be extremely economical to run, a very important criteria for commercial vehicles. The Mahindra Maxximo CNG will be BSIV compliant and is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
