Mahindra Marazzo silently discontinued, removed from the official website
Mahindra has officially removed the Marazzo from its product lineup on their website, signalling the possible end of the unique MPV. Despite previous speculations about a potential revival, the Marazzo now seems to be permanently axed. However, the reason behind this move remains unclear.
When it was available, the Mahindra Marazzo stood out in the Indian auto market due to its distinct combination of a ladder-frame chassis, transverse-mounted engine and front-wheel drive layout. This configuration was unmatched by any other vehicle in India.
The Marazzo offered notable features such as sophisticated forged aluminum suspension components, rear AC vents with diffuse and direct functions, flexible second-row seating options and a shark-inspired design.
Despite these highlights, the Marazzo struggled to resonate with the broader Indian audience. Its MPV silhouette did not align with the market’s growing preference for SUV designs. As a result, sales were modest, with an average of just 60 units per month over the past year. The highest sales were recorded in September 2023 with 144 units, while May 2024 saw the lowest at only 16 units.
This move raises questions about whether the Marazzo might return in a different form. Some enthusiasts believe that Mahindra could leverage its expertise to reinvent the Marazzo, similar to the successful transformations seen with the Thar and Bolero Neo.
For now, the Marazzo’s fate remains uncertain. Whether it is a temporary absence or a permanent farewell, only time will tell if Mahindra will revive this distinctive vehicle or leave it as a chapter in its history.
The Mahindra Marazzo competed with the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Maruti XL6, Kia Carnival, Toyota Innova Crysta and the likes. Did you like the MPV from Mahindra or not? Let us know in the comments section below.
