Launch Of Mahindra Marazzo Automatic Model To Happen As Planned?

Mahindra Marazzo Automatic Launch
Upcoming AMT models of the MPV can be distinguished from the manual through the “AutoShift” badge

The long-pending launch of the Mahinda Marazzo diesel automatic variant could take place later this year, if reports are to be believed.

This development comes soon after it came to light last week that the automaker will be discontinuing the KUV100 NXT and Marazzo MPV owing to them fetching poor sales.

Mahindra has invested significantly into the BS6 version of the MPV. Thus, it might be looking to the turn the vehicle’s fortune around by introducing the automatic variant.

The exact timeline of the Mahindra Marazzo automatic launch is not known as of now, but the model is expected to be put on sale later this year.

Spy shots of the Marazzo automatic have been doing rounds on the internet for months already. A type approval certificate of the MPV’s 2-pedal variant was disclosed in February, providing all the necessary details about the model.

To be offered in all variants (M2, M4+ and M6+) the Marazzo automatic will come with a 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to an AMT. The automatic models will come with 2 driving modes – Eco (engine power reduced to 98 HP) and Power (has the full 121 HP output).

To cost more than the equivalent manual variant, the Marazzo automatic model should be able to deliver a very similar fuel efficiency as that of the 3-pedal model.

The Mahindra Marazzo automatic launch might happen before the XUV700 and the new generation Scorpio are put on sale in the market.

Hopefully, this move will help the MPV find more customers, as it only had 255 takers in the month of March 2021 and 161 buyers in April.

The majority of MPV buyers in the country have not found the car to their liking until now
