Mahindra Launches Range Of Vehicles In Kenya

Mahindra has just entered the Kenyan market with the launch of the Maxximo mini-truck, Genio, Scorpio, XUV500, Scorpio and Scorpio Pick Up. Simba Corporation has been apoointed as the sole dealer for Mahindra vehicles in Kenya. The dealership will trade under Xylon Motors and will provide Kenyan customers with service, testing and an after sales department supplying parts and accessories. Xylon showroom has been opened in Nairobi and Simba feels that Mahinda vehicles have huge potential in the Kenyan market.

“We are delighted to expand our presence in Kenya which is a strategic market for us within the African continent. Our range of utility vehicles and pick ups have carved a distinct niche for themselves in markets across the world including Europe, South Africa, Egypt, South and Central America and Australia and I’m sure Kenya will be no exception,” Sanjay Jadhav, Senior General Manager, Exports (Africa and Middle East), Mahindra, said.

Mahindra has long been present in the African continent with its IT, tractors and energy companies. They have also been selling tractors in Kenya through M/s Timsale. Currently Mahindra has presence in Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Ghana, Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan and South Africa. Simba Corp has invested close to 600 million shillings in Xylon Motors, which will ensure parts availability won’t be a problem. The specifications of all the vehicles being sold in Kenya is the same as the Indian models and Mahindra has not made any changes to the mechanicals of its utility vehicles.
