The Mahindra KUV100 will be given an update this month to iron out some issues with the car.
Amidst a lot of hype, the Mahindra KUV100 was launched exactly a year back but the car didn’t really live up to all the hype. The segment is a bit crowded with some very competent cars and now Maruti has entered the market with the Ignis which gives direct competition to the KUV100.
The KUV100 has huge discounts being offered but sales have been hovering around 2000 units. The vehicle gets a 1.2-litre mFalcon petrol engine which is fetching most of the sales. It has a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 18.23 km/l but customers have been complaining about poor mileage. The poor fuel efficiency is a result of the large AC compressor that has been put in the car for quick cooling.
To improve fuel efficiency, the AC of the KUV100 has been re-engineered and the ECU map has also been tweaked slightly. People have also been complaining about NVH levels and the company will combat the levels of vibrations that filter inside the car by changing the engine mounts by tweaking their stiffness.
The Mahindra KUV100 currently rides on 14-inch wheels but the updated model will come with larger 15-inch wheels which will give the car a better stance. The updated version of the car will be launched by the end of January 2017.
