Mahindra wants to make it big in global markets and hence the automaker has now started exporting the KUV100 to a lot of countries outside India.
With their newborn kid that comes with a gasoline powertrain, Mahindra is gaining some momentum in overseas as well as domestic markets. The KUV100 is the first utility petrol vehicle from the Mahindra family and it is considered to be an important car for both the markets. The trustworthy Indian brand which is good at utility vehicles since mid-90s is a good volume market holder in the sub-continent.
Mahindra has started exporting the hatchback and the primary focus of the company is right-hand driven markets like Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and South Africa. The automaker may also start exporting to the Middle East and South Asian markets as well. So far, 400 units of the KUV100 have been shipped from the Bombay port and of which 220 units alone have travelled to South Africa in April.
As of now, 14,210 units of the Mahindra KUV100 are plying on Indian roads. Mahindra is also expecting a steady rise in numbers as it is the second most sold model for Mahindra in the last month after the Bolero. After the unveiling of the vehicle back in November 2015, the bookings have crossed 37,000 units.
The growing demand for micro SUVs and compact SUVs in the domestic market has triggered the competition amongst manufacturers. Mahindra has recently been on a product offensive and they have been launching a slew of vehicles across a variety of segments. The company aims to make it big not only in India where it is an established player, but also in the growing overseas markets.
