The Mahindra GenZe 2.0 all-electric connected scooter was launched in Oakland, US last month. It was showcased at 2016 Auto Expo and might come to the market in the future.
Mahindra’s ambitious GenZe 2.0 all-electric connected scooter made its first public appearance in India at the ongoing 2016 Auto Expo near Delhi after the US launch last month. Completely designed, developed and manufactured in the US, the GenZe 2.0 is Mahindra’s showcase of its technological and innovative progress.
The Mahindra GenZe 2.0 scooter has been designed to help reduce challenges normally associated with urban commuting of parking, congestion and pollution. Given its all-electric nature, the GenZe 2.0 is emissions free and is powered by a removable 1.6 kWh lithium-ion battery that takes up to 3.5 hours to charge at any standard electrical outlet.
The scooter comes with an LED headlamp, a small windshield, wide handlebar, 12V charging sockets, disc brakes and four riding modes while being extremely light with a kerb weight of 105 kgs. In terms of performance, the Mahindra GenZe 2.0 is quick off the line due to hundred percent of torque being available right from the start and has a top speed of 48 km/hr achievable in 8 seconds.
A connectivity solution allows you to look at various data including battery level and various driving statistics while also letting drivers shift between powerful or eco-friendly modes via the 7-inch touchscreen display. Priced at Rs. 1.90 lakhs (Indian equivalent) in the US, it isn’t surprising why Mahindra hasn’t bought it to India yet. It might happen in the future though considering the Ather S340 which is in a similar space got unveiled this week and has got a great response.
