Mahindra might have been late in entering the 2-wheeler market but the company has excellent financial support which enables them to work quickly in developing new products. If we look at Mahindra’s 4-wheeler lineup, the company’s success can be attributed to its distinct lineup of products which stand apart from competitors. The Scorpio, XUV500, e2o are all unique in some way or the other, which has attracted lots of buyers. Now Mahindra plans to use the same strategy for its 2-wheeler division.
The Mahindra Centuro is without doubt the most feature loaded commuter motorcycle in the market today. Mahindra knows the VFM card is their way to success considering they are the youngest 2-wheeler manufacturer in the country. At today’s launch of the Centuro in Jaipur, we had a word with Mahindra 2-wheeler officials who told us that the company plans to boost presence by launching new products in a variety of segments. These launches will take place every six months or so.
Mahindra is eyeing the Pulsar segments and plans to bring in a 150cc and 180cc motorcycle next year. The company will be launching a few scooters in the near future as well. Mahindra will also launch the Mojo motorcycle, which is a 300cc cruiser, showcased multiple times in the past few years. The company will have to get their pricing spot on, as buyers have the option of choosing between a well established product like the KTM Duke at mouth watering prices.
