The Honda CBR250R has been priced very correctly in India. There are very few people who think the quarter-liter motorcycle from Honda has been overpriced. The company has been able to achieve this value for money pricing through localisation. The Honda CBR250R has 75% local content and now the Japanese automaker plans to increase it to 90%. However don’t get excited so soon as there will be no reductions in the price of the CBR250R and the reduction in manufacturing costs will be to increase Honda’s margin on the bike. The company plans to sell 50,000 units of the CBR250R this year, but looking at the waiting period on the bike, that seems a tall order.
