The 2017 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR special edition will have a production run of just 500 units. The superbike is also available in the beautiful Winter Edition matte black paint.
The Kawasaki ZX-10R is a track focused performance machine which has enough electronic gizmos to shame the Apollo 11 moon mission. The litre-class bike looks like a ramp-model and goes like a feral cat when you twist the throttle anti-clockwise. Now, Kawasaki has come up with an even more bonkers version of the speed machine with sporty updates to its engine and cosmetic changes in form of new alloy wheels.
The new 2017 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR gets more than just an extra ‘R’ in its name. The Japanese company has introduced new race kit for the bike which, among other things, adds high lift cams and the tappets in the valve-train now get low-friction coating to help reduce friction and mechanical loss. The crank cases have been beefed up to better deal with the stress of the race tune.
The wheels have also been ditched in favour of seven-spoke Marchesini rims for precious weight saving. They have the same size as stock wheels but now come wrapped in Pirelli Supercorsa SP rubber. The RR also comes with Kawasaki’s new bi-directional quick-shifter. That system is in addition to the pre-existing six-axis IMU that feeds the traction control, ABS, electronic engine brake control, launch control and cornering management system.
Laterally grooved Brembo discs, a Brembo radial pump master cylinder and steel braided hoses ensure that the bike always stops on a dime. To maintain exclusivity, the company has decided to produce only 500 of these masterpieces which are to be sold across Europe, in Kawasaki Racing Team’s black and white ‘Winter Test’ livery.
