Lexus has launched the Range Rover SDV8 Autobiography rival, LX 450d SUV in India and has priced it at Rs. 2.32 crores.
Just after two months of officially entering the Indian market, Lexus has launched its big (by big, I really mean BIG) SUV, the Lexus LX 450d. The Lexus LX 450d is an SUV that’s based on the Toyota Land Cruiser LC200 and retails at almost a crore more than the SUV it is based on.
India gets only one variant and that is the 450d diesel. Powering this mammoth of an SUV is a 4.5-litre V8 oil burner that produces 261 HP and a mind-numbing 650 Nm of torque. This engine comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and there’s also a full-time 4 wheel drive available. The SUV measures 5080 mm in length, 1980 mm in width and 1865 mm in height.
The Lexus LX 450d comes with a host of standard features, LED Bi-Beam headlights, LED front fog-lamps, LED cornering lamps, LED tail-lights, 18-inch alloys, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, rear-seat entertainment with 8-inch displays, 4-zone climate control, 4 camera multi-terrain back monitor system and a 19-speaker Mark Levinson Reference audio system.
Priced at Rs. 2.32 crores, there’s only one rival to the LX 450d and that’s the Range Rover SDV8 Autobiography priced at Rs. 2.27 crores (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). That said, Lexus is charing quite a premium on its cars which are known for their reliability, something both the Germans as well as the British lack.
