Toyota recently launched the 2024 Vellfire in India at a starting price of Rs. 1.19 Crore (ex-showroom). Now, Lexus is gearing up to launch their version i.e. the LM in India. The Lexus LM made its global debut earlier this year and now Lexus India has teased the vehicle indicating that its launch is around the corner.
The Lexus LM shares its architecture with the Vellfire. It is based on the TNGA-K platform which is stated to be 50% more rigid than its previous version. The LM gets a large grille, LED headlamps, wraparound LED light bar, and a lot of blingy elements.
On the inside, the vehicle gets multiple configurations like 4-seater, 6-seater and 7-seater. The 4-seater variant is also the most luxurious variant in the line-up. The driver’s cabin and the passenger compartment are separated by a high resolution 48-inch widescreen display. There’s also a refrigerator on offer along with an advanced cooling system that detects the temperature of the passenger’s face, chest, thighs and lower legs.
Overseas, Lexus offers the LM with 2.4-litre and 2.5-litre hybrid powertrains with 4-cylinder engines. In India, the new Vellfire gets the 2.5-litre powertrain making 193 HP and 240 Nm, mated to an e-CVT. The vehicle delivers a claimed figure of 19.28 km/l. We expect the LM to get this powertrain in India.
The Vellfire is available in two variants – Hi-Grade for Rs. 1.19 Crores and VIP for Rs. 1.29 Crores (ex-showroom) and thus we expect the LM to be priced more than that.
