Lexus has finally entered the Indian market with the ES 300h, RX 450h and LX 450d.
After a long wait, Lexus has finally launched its products in India. The automaker will offer the ES 300h, RX 400h and LX 350d in India and deliveries are slated to begin in April.
Lexus ES 300h
The Lexus ES 300h is the company’s entry level offering in India. It is priced at Rs. 55.27 lakhs and shares its platform with the Camry. The exteriors also look similar to the Camry but come with some changes for a more premium appeal. The interiors are plush and come with a good dose of chrome and wood inserts. The ES 300h comes with a series-parallel hybrid system that combines a 2.5-litre petrol engine with 160 PS and 233 Nm to an electric motor producing 143 PS and 270 Nm. Power is sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT gearbox.
Lexus RX 450h
The Lexus RX 450h is a large SUV that is priced at Rs. 1.07 crores for the Luxury Sport variant and Rs. 1.09 crores for the F-Sport variant. The RX 450h is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine along with an electric motor, making 310 PS of power. 0-100 km/hr comes in less than 8 seconds and power is sent to all 4 wheels via an e-CVT gearbox. The sporty SUV will compete with the likes of the Porsche Cayenne, BMW X5, etc.
Lexus LX 450d
The LX 450d is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser and the Lexus badged vehicle comes with some changes. The styling looks bold and imposing with all the chrome on the body. The interiors have a premium feel and it is an 8-seater SUV. The LX 450d comes with a suspension that can be raised for more ground clearance. It is powered by a 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine producing 270 PS of power and 650 Nm of torque. The oil-burner comes mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Pricing of the LX 450d will be announced later but it will cost more than Rs. 2 crores for sure.
