JLR has replaced the 2.2-litre diesel engine with the 2.0-litre Ingenium unit in the Discovery Sport.
Land Rover had launched the Discovery Sport in India in 2015 and the vehicle was available with a 2.2-litre diesel engine in two states of tune. The engine came in 147 HP and 187 HP tunes, mated to a ZF automatic gearbox. The automaker then launched the petrol version of the Discovery Sport in 2016.
Now, the 2.2-litre diesel engine has been discontinued and the Discovery Sport with the 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine has been launched in India. The new diesel engine is also offered with the 2017 Evoque. The oil-burner is offered in two states of tune – 148 HP & 382 Nm and 177 HP & 430 Nm. All the variants come with a 9-speed automatic gearbox. There are no other changes to the vehicle and it gets the same equipment levels as before. Talking about the petrol engine, it is a 2.0-litre unit producing 237 HP and 340 Nm.
