Toyota displayed two of their most popular SUVs at the recent Auto Expo – the Land Cruiser LC200 and Land Cruiser Prado.
Automakers showcased a slew of products at the recently concluded 2016 Auto Expo. Chucked away in one corner of the Toyota stall were two brawny SUVs that caught our attention. Both these vehicles are extremely popular abroad but in India they aren’t really selling well owing to the fact that they are ridiculously priced and one can get hold of super premium luxury SUVs at that price point.
Land Cruiser LC200
First up, we have the Land Cruiser LC200. The updated model was launched in India in October 2015 at a price of Rs. 1.29 crore (ex-showroom) and it comes with revised exteriors and redesigned interiors. The overall look of the front fascia is very brute-like while the overload of chrome does add some character to the SUV.
The Land Cruiser LC200 is powered by a 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine that produces 281 HP of power and 650 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission and a full-time 4WD system is a standard feature on this SUV. The Land Cruiser LC200 also gets features like TPMS, multi-terrain monitor cameras, heated steering wheel, etc.
Land Cruiser Prado
The current Land Cruiser Prado has been on sale since 2014 and it costs almost Rs. 90 lakhs (ex-showroom). Just like its bigger sibling, the Prado too comes loaded with a lot of chrome and it also carries a lot of muscle. The styling is impressive and the vehicle has a lot of road presence too.
The Land Cruise Prado comes with a crawl-control feature while it also has five different terrain modes like – Rock, Rock and Dirt, Mogul, Loose Rock and Mud and Sand. TPMS is also present. Under the hood of the Land Cruiser Prado is a 3.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 171 HP of power and 410 Nm of torque.
