Surprise, surprise! Lamborghini has launched the Aventador Roadster in the Indian market today, in less than three months after the super car made its official debut globally. The latest raging bull from Italy is the hottest looking Lamborghini on sale today and boasts of an impeccable design which can make your jaws drop. The hardtop convertible features a two-piece gloss black roof which can only be removed manually (no electronics here). Still the roof doesn’t take much time to install and weighs just 6 kgs.
Lamborghini engineers have made other changes to the Aventador as well. The Roadster features a re-designed rear pillar to support the removable roof, while the rear hood has got a design tweak, allowing more air for the monstrous V12 motor. The rear windshield can be opened thereby enabling the sweet sound from the engine getting more audible inside the cabin. Removable wind deflectors are fitted on the front column for better aerodynamics of the Aventador Roadster, which runs on forged 20-inch and 21-inch Dione alloy wheels at the front and rear respectively.
A new Azzuro Thetis light blue color is offered on the Aventador Roadster. Powering this Lamborghini super car is the same 6.5-litre V12 engine which belts out 690 BHP of power at 8250 RPM and 690 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. This engine weighs just 235 kgs and is mated to a 7-speed semi-automatic single-clutch gearbox. Performance is exhilarating with 0 – 100 km/hr taking 3 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds slower than the Coupe. Top speed is 350 km/hr and the Italian company is betting big on the Indian market, where it saw 21% growth last year. The new Lamborghini Aventador Roadster will be on sale from mid 2013 through the company’s nationwide dealerships.
