Soon after officially unveiling the Lamborghini Huracan at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, the Italian exotic car manufacturer has silently brought in the car to India to give a preview to prospective buyers in the country. While the official launch is still a few months away, the Huracan will do a multi-city tour for customer events. The exotic sportscar was spotted being unloaded on a trailer bed at the Mumbai airport, ready to be shipped to an event.
The Huracan takes the baton from Lamborghini’s most successful and sold car, the Gallardo and is powered by a new naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 engine producing a whopping 602 BHP, while power is sent to all four-wheels via a newly designed 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission. 0-100 km/hr comes up in a claimed 3.2 seconds, while the top speed is touted to be over 321 km/hr.
The design on the Huracan is evolutionary with razor sharp lines on the Gallardo replaced with less angular lines. Lamborghini has tried to make it look like a smaller Aventador from certain angles and it certainly looks as feisty as it should be to drive. The Huracan will be showcased at the Four Seasons Hotel in Worli, Mumbai to prospective buyers and will move on to be showcased in Delhi for a similar event.
Lamborghini wants to gauge customer interest in the sportscar and is also accepting orders for the Huracan, even before its launch. The Gallardo was the best-selling Lamborghini ever with over 14,000 units sold and the company certainly hopes that the Huracan will surpass the benchmark during its time. The price for the Lamborghini Huracan begins at Rs. 3.43 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the company says that their latest offering will be the most user friendly Lamborghini to drive.
