KTM Teases 390 Enduro R On Social Media, Launching This Month
The KTM 390 Enduro R has been teased by the Austrian brand ahead of its launch later this month. The Enduro R is supposed to be the affordable option for buyers looking to go off-road on a lower budget, with a host of changes. The bookings have been open since December 2024 for the 390 Enduro R. Let’s take a closer look at the Enduro R.
Engine & Performance
KTM will be positioning the 390 Enduro R below the 390 Adventure and will be lighter and more maneuverable for the riders, taking inspiration from the 690 Enduro R. It will be powered by the 399cc LC4C single-cylinder engine producing 45 HP and 39 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
Wheels & Suspension
In terms of suspension, the Enduro R will feature Upside Down Forks at the front with 230mm of travel, and the rear will be a monoshock setup. It will get 285mm front disc with an axial caliper and 240mm rear discs. The bike will also feature dual-channel ABS, with 21-inch and 18-inch spoked wheels on the front and rear, respectively.
It will have a smaller 9-litre fuel tank as compared to the 390 Duke, necessary for a weight reduction of 6 kg. This will bring the weight down to 159 kg. However, keeping with the Enduro R name, it will feature significant off-roading capabilities, incorporating a taller stance and ground clearance of 272mm.
Features
KTM will offer the Enduro R with a multitude of features, enhancing its on-road and off-road capabilities. It will be offered with a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, incoming calls, and turn-by-turn navigation. There will be the option of choosing between drive modes as well. However, more details are yet to be revealed.
Outlook
KTM has sparked interest in the 390 Enduro R. KTM has also said that there is a 390 SMC R in the works with 17-inch wheels. This means there is a lot of potential left to extract from the engine and chassis combination of the 390 range. It should help the Austrian brand justify building bikes during poor financial times.
