KTM RC 390 R introduced for the global markets, gets optional SSP300 race kit too.
KTM has launched a limited edition model of the RC 390 called the RC 390 R for the global markets and only 500 units will be produced. Priced at €8500 (approximately Rs 7 lakhs), the limited edition model gets more racetrack focused with the new mechanical components.
To start off, the KTM RC 390 R gets fully adjustable WP suspension, new top yoke and handlebar kit for a committed riding position and folding clutch and brake levers which do not break in case of a crash, instead the levers will flip out. The 373.3cc motor gets upgrades in the form of shorter intake trumpet which delivers a wider power band suited for riding on the track. If this much equipment on the RC 390 R didn’t entice you, then there’s more.
The Austrian bike maker is offering a proper race kit which comes with over 230 individual parts fitted on the RC 390 R. Called the SSP300 race kit, the race kit includes race-spec ECU, titanium Akrapovic exhaust, STM slipper clutch, quick shifter, improved engine cooling and wiring harness, spare wheels and a full body kit made from strong and lightweight materials.
The kit is limited to 50 units per year and has been specifically made for the RC 390 R model. It isn’t compatible with any RC specification model before 2017. Priced at €11,000 (approximately Rs 8.68 lakhs) including German VAT, the kit itself proves to be costier than the price of three standard KTM RC 390 bikes in India.
