KTM Orange Cup One Make Race Announced For 6th December

The first edition of the KTM Orange Cup will be held at the MMSC race track in Chennai and will be held on 6th December starting from 6.30 AM.

The Orange cup is exclusive to Duke and RC 390 owners in India

If you are a KTM fan and have been wanting to display those riding skills on the track; then the Austrian manufacturer is set out to provide the perfect platform to not only test your limits but learn, improve and leave your mark in history as well. Following the trail started by Yamaha, Honda and TVS in the country, the automaker has officially announced the ‘KTM Orange Cup’, its maiden ‘One Make Race’ series in India.

The first edition of the KTM Orange Cup will be held at the MMSC Race Track in Chennai on 6th December 2015. The one-day event is scheduled to commence at 6.30 AM and is exclusive for owners of the Duke and RC 390. The Orange cup is being conducted under the guidelines of FMSCI and hence the necessary safety rules and guidelines will have to be followed for the entire event. Here are some of the basics that you need to know about.

KTM further confirmed that the single day event has a participation limit, so an early registration is a must considering it is on a first come first serve basis. The day long event is divided under an hour classroom session, 4 practice sessions and 4 qualifying sessions (one for each group); the final race for RC 390 and Duke 390 respectively followed by winner felicitation in the evening.

The qualifying will be conducted by way of lap times. Moreover, all bikes need to come fully prepared for the track and clear pre-event scrutiny. Outstation participants are advised to reach a day prior to the event and prep their bikes. KTM will be providing common spares for the bikes that have cleared scrutiny and suffer from a crash. Only the fastest 30 riders from each class would qualify for the final race.

KTM is yet to announce complete details on the Orange Cup, but those interested can get in touch with their nearest dealerships in order to register for the event wherein you will be asked to register with a participation fee of Rs. 1500/- along with photo identity proof, four stamp size photos, and registration certificate/consent letter from the owner of the vehicle. The dealer will also guide you on the rules and participation details. Having organised the Orange days and track days for its customers, the Orange cup is certainly a great move in the right direction and will help customers further hone their riding skills.
