KTM Duke 790 price has been revealed for the UK, costs less than double the price of the Duke 390.
KTM recently unveiled the production-spec Duke 790 at the 2017 EICMA and has now announced the pricing for the UK market. Prices for the Duke 790 starts from £8199 (approximately Rs. 7.04 lakhs) for A2 license holders and £8499 (approximately Rs. 7.32 lakhs) for others.
Meanwhile, the Duke 390 costs £4699 (approximately Rs. 4.04 lakhs) in the UK which means the Duke 790 is priced lesser than double the price of the KTM Duke 390. Considering the Duke 790 will be assembled in India, the price of the motorcycle could very well be under the Rs. 6 lakh mark (ex-showroom). The motorcycle will be brought to India via the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route but will share some cycle parts with the Duke 390 (for cost concerns).
KTM will then significantly undercut the Duke 790’s rivals in India – the Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple RS and Yamaha MT-09, all of which are priced above the Rs. 9 lakhs (ex-showroom) mark. The Duke 790 is powered by an all-new LC8c parallel-twin engine which thrusts out 105 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 86 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM. This 799cc DOHC motor comes mated to a 6-speed transmission and gets a quick shifter.
Suspended via 43 mm USD front forks and a gas-charged rear monoshock unit, the Duke 790 features 300 mm dual petal discs and 240 mm single petal disc at the front and rear respectively. The vehicle is expected to go on sale in India sometime in 2019.
