KTM India had introduced the smallest capacity Duke in the Indian market last year. The KTM Duke 125 was launched at a price of Rs. 1.18 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). With the new financial year in the cycle again, the company has increased the price of the smallest Duke. The Duke 125 is now priced at Rs. 1.25 lakhs (ex-showroom) which is almost Rs. 6800/- more than the price when it was launched. The KTM Duke 125 is the most powerful 125cc motorcycle in the country.
With the launch of the Duke 125 in India, KTM is recording a huge demand for the small capacity motorcycle. The smallest Duke has outsold the other offerings from the manufacturer like the Duke 200, 250 and 390 in the period of December 2019 to February 2019.
The 125cc offering from KTM is different from the ones sold in Europe which get similar styling like the current generation of the Duke 390. The India spec Duke 125 shares its hardware with the Duke 200. The motorcycle sits on a lightweight and strong trellis frame and is suspended by USD forks in the front and a monoshock at the rear.
Powering the KTM Duke 125 is a 124.7cc, single-cylinder engine with liquid cooling and dual overhead camshafts (DOHC). The engine makes 14.3 BHP of maximum power output with 12 Nm of peak torque. The braking is taken care of by disc brakes on both the ends and it gets a single-channel ABS unit with rear-wheel lift protection. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
