A second price hike sees the Duke 125 retail at Rs. 1.30 lakhs from Rs. 1.25 lakhs.
KTM has hiked the prices for the Duke 125 twice now. The bike was first introduced at Rs. 1.18 lakhs, then saw a rise to Rs. 1.25 lakhs. The latest price hike of Rs. 5000/- sees the Duke 125 sell at Rs. 1.30 lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom). The entry-level Duke is now only Rs. 30,000/- cheaper than the 200cc variant, but still remains the cheapest offering from the Austrian brand in India.
With the latest price hike, the baby Duke has slotted a bit closer to the latest Yamaha MT-15 that retails at Rs. 1.36 lakhs (ex-showroom, India). Also, the bike is low on power and pricer than the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS200. However, the Duke 125 still remains one of the most powerful 125cc offerings in the country.
The Duke 125 is powered by a 124.7cc, liquid cooled, DOHC, fuel injected engine that churns out class leading 14.5 PS at 9250 RPM and 12 Nm at 8000 RPM, mated to a 6-speed transmission. The Duke 125 comes with a single-channel ABS unit that is similar to the one fitted on the Duke 200.
