KTM will soon be launching the Duke 200 in India, which is rumoured to be announced on the 3rd of January 2012. Now the Austrian automaker has added India to its global website, which says that the Duke 200 is coming soon. The company will offer PowerParts and PowerWear to customers to help Duke 200 owners customize their rides. India is a very important market for KTM as the company sees a huge growth opportunity in emerging markets. The Duke 200 is going to play a pivotal role in creating brand awareness for KTM. The Duke 200 will be retailed through Bajaj’s Pro-biking outlet and is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.25 lakhs (ex-showroom, Pune).
The KTM Duke 200 uses a 200cc motor to produce 25 BHP of peak power at 10,000 RPM and 19.5 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. The short stroke motor does 100 kmph in less than 10 seconds and can hit a top speed of around 138 kmph. With a weight of just 136 kgs, the Duke 200 is light and agile. It can be turned sharply in a corner and is very easy to manuevour. A special mention needs to be made about the awesome instrument cluster which carriers a host of data.
