The KTM 790 Adventure will be launched in India in the mid or in the second half of 2020.
KTM has revealed the 790 Adventure at the ongoing India Bike Week 2019 in Goa. The company’s middleweight adventure bike is yet to be launched in India and has been showcased to analyse people’s reaction. The KTM 790 Adventure is based on the KTM Duke 790, which was launched a few months ago in India.
The KTM 790 Adventure is based on the Duke 790, and is powered by the same 799cc, parallel-twin engine. However, it is offered in a slightly different state of tune producing 94 PS at 8250 RPM and 88 Nm of peak torque at 6600 RPM, 1500 RPM lower than the Duke 790. The bike has a dry weight of 189 kgs and should be easy to handle and light on its feet for light off-road work. The parallel-twin powertrain has a meaty low-end and is going to be an entertaining offering in the middleweight adventure bike segment. Four riding modes are on offer – Street, Off-Road, Rain or Rally complemented by the lean-sensitive Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), as well as cornering ABS.
The 790 Adventure runs on a 21-inch front wheel and 18-inch rear wheel combination, both spoked wheels, with a non-adjustable 43 mm WP upside-down fork upfront with 200 mm of travel, and a preload-adjustable WP monoshock at the rear with 200 mm of rear-wheel travel. The adventure bike is expected to carry a price tag of Rs. 10-11 lakhs (ex-showroom).
