KTM will debut its 490 motorcycle range, which will be composed of up to 5 models, come 2022. The parent group of KTM, Pierer Mobility AG, revealed the above during a recent presentation.
The KTM 490 motorcycle range will include the Duke 490, RC 490, 490 Adventure and in addition enduro and supermoto variants based on the platform.
India is expected to get the naked, supersport and adventure models, just like in the 390 range, but when it comes to the other 2 models, KTM will give them a miss.
To be underpinned by a new chassis, the KTM 490 range will be powered by a new parallel twin motor with an engine capacity close to 500cc and near enough 50 HP power output.
Chief Executive Officer of Pierer Mobility AG, Stefan Pierer has already revealed that the Duke 490 will go on sale in 2022, followed by the 490 Adventure.
The motorcycles are set to be manufactured at the new factory that Bajaj is constructing in Pune which is expected to be operational by the end of 2022, about the same time the Duke 490 is likely to get launched.
