KTM 390 Adventure has been spotted without camo and looks similar to the 790 Adventure.
KTM 390 Adventure has been spied undisguised and looks very close to being production ready. The 390 Adventure has been spotted a couple of times before but has always been wrapped up in camouflage. These images show the bike void of any camouflage and the looks are inseparable from the 790 Adventure.
The dual-purpose offering from KTM will be fitted with a re-tuned version of the 373.2cc engine that currently powers the Duke 390. The 373.2cc engine produces 43.5 BHP at 9000 RPM and 37 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. However, we expect the engine on 390 Adventure to deliver torque a bit earlier on the rev range to make it easy to ride off-road. The gearing ratios are also expected to be tweaked to aid off-roading.
The 390 Adventure is seen to get a long-travel suspension and will get 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast wheels. Another version of the 390 Adventure might come, which could be named as the R version and will come with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels.
It will be fitted with full-colour TFT screen and the multifunction switchgear. The bike might also get switchable ABS and other electronics package. The bike is also seen to have a full luggage system, which suggests that KTM will provide a list of touring accessories with the bike.
The 390 Adventure is likely to be unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, Italy later this year. We expect its India launch shortly after the unveiling, by early-2020. The bike will go head-to-head against the BMW G 310 GS and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. It is likely to be costlier than the Himalayan but cheaper than the BMW offering.
