KTM to test these big motorcycles thoroughly in India before the launch
KTM India is set to begin testing its high capacity motorcycles in the Indian market. The lineup for initial testing includes the 990 Duke, 890 Adventure and 1390 SuperDuke R. This move marks a significant step for the Austrian manufacturer, which aims to expand its presence in India’s growing premium motorcycle segment.
KTM plans to conduct extensive tests on these models under Indian conditions before their official launch. This approach is driven by past experiences with the 790 Duke which despite being well-received for its performance, faced several issues related to India’s hot climate and challenging road conditions. By thoroughly testing the new models, KTM hopes to address any potential problems and ensure a smoother experience for its customers.
In addition to testing the bikes, KTM is focused on enhancing the showroom and service experience for its customers. The company is in the process of finalising locations and dealerships that will cater to these high-capacity motorcycles. Initially, these dealerships will be located in major metropolitan areas.
Handling and servicing high-capacity motorcycles requires a different level of expertise compared to lower-capacity bikes. Recognising this, KTM aims to train its staff adequately and ensure that customers receive a superior level of service and support.
Beyond the 990 Duke, 890 Adventure and 1390 SuperDuke R, KTM is planning to introduce a wider range of models in India. This includes the 1290 Super Adventure S and the 890 Adventure R, among others. These additions will cater to various segments within the premium motorcycle market.
