KTM India is likely to launch the 125 Duke in the Indian market by November 2018.
KTM India has been manufacturing the 125 Duke at their Chakan facility but Rajiv Bajaj had stated that they won’t launch the bike in India because it wouldn’t find many takers. However, things seem to have changed now, because the company is looking to launch the 125 Duke in India by November 2018.
The KTM 125 Duke had got a major update wherein its body style resembles the larger Duke 390 with some changes but we don’t know whether they will launch the 125 in the new body style or in the older (Duke 200) body style. If it comes with the new body style and with more features, expect the ex-showroom pricing to touch Rs. 1.4 – 1.5 lakhs. If the older body style is launched, pricing is likely to be in the range of Rs. 1.25 lakhs.
The global version of the KTM 125 Duke comes with 124.7cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 15 PS of power and 12 Nm of torque and matched to a 6-speed transmission. The new 125 Duke shares a lot of components with its elder siblings and even comes with features like a 2-channel Bosch ABS.
It remains to be seen how the KTM 125 Duke will be received by customers. There is a high possibility that many people will pay more and get one of the more powerful versions, however, the 125 is likely to be a good entry point for those who want their first KTM.
