Kia Unveils EV4 & Concept EV2, Will Go Into Production In Mid-March 2025 With EV2 To Launch In 2026

Kia unveiled the EV4 and Concept EV2 at the 2025 Kia World EV Day in Tarragona, Spain. The duo completed the Korean manufacturer’s competent lineup for tackling the Electric Vehicle Landscape. Let’s take a look at what the two EVs offer potential buyers.

Kia EV4 Design Cues

The Kia EV4 is a practical daily drivable EV and is available in sedan and hatchback bodystyles, catering to a multitude of buyers. Kia calls the EV4 buyers the “Early Majority” audience. It offers a futuristic design, incorporating the “Opposites United” design philosophy with a mix of usable technology.

Performance & Battery Range

The Kia EV4 is powered by two variants: a standard range (58.3 kWh) and long-range (81.4 kWh). The EV4 Sedan delivers a standard range of 430 km and a long range of 630 km, making it one of the best in the segment. The EV4 Hatchback projects a Standard Range of 410 km and a Long Range of 590 km The 0-100 km/hr timings are 7.4 seconds for the standard range and 7.7 seconds for the long-range models, up to a top speed of 170 km/hr for both variants.

Charging Capabilities

The fast DC Charging allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes. The EV4 offers a standard 11 kW onboard charger as well. Additionally, the EV4 can deliver versatility as it offers 3.6A V2L (Vehicle-To-Load) and 10A V2G (Vehicle-To-Grid) functionality.

Features

The Kia EV4 is also well equipped with a combination of 12.3-inch dual screens and a 5.3-inch multi-information driver display which incorporates YouTube and Netflix integration alongside an innovative Kia AI Assistant. There are other features such as Over-The-Air updates via users mobile, i-Pedal 3.0 for better regenerative braking, and plenty more.

Safety Aids

The safety suite is equally impressive with ADAS Tech, offering self-driving functionality and bundling safety aids such as Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2, Lane Following Assist 2, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist and Remote Parking Assist Entry.

Additionally, the car also Driving Package F+ which gives radars and cameras, aiding the rest of the functionality. The Kia EV4 aims to score 5 stars in Euro NCAP Crash Testing and US NCAP and Top Safety Pick in IIHS (Insurance Institute of Highway Safety).

Kia Concept EV2: Overview

The Kia EV2 is a B-Segment SUV meant to combine class-leading features and fit for active urban adventures. The Concept EV2 integrates itself with the Kia EV family with design cues such as vertical DRLs, and Kia Star Map signature lighting. The SUV also has rear-hinged back doors to give its buyers a sense of exploring destinations outside cities.

Interior

The interior is also a good place to spend time with sustainable ways to manufacture flexible seating and a vibrant design. The innovative B-Segment SUV also features Pop-Up luggage dividers and removable triangular speakers for a customisable audio experience. The interior also incorporates a wireless charger and power outlet, prioritising functionality.

Features

In terms of features, the Kia Concept EV2 also has message lighting which allows occupants to display text messages via the vehicle’s windows to other road users to convey messages. The absence of a central pillar gives an airy and open experience to the interior occupants as well.

Outlook

The Kia EV4 sedan will be produced at the Kia Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant in South Korea. The Kia EV4 Hatchback will be produced in Slovakia as it targets the European Market. The manufacturing is expected to commence in mid-March for the sedan model and the second half of 2025 for the hatchback.

The EV4 is expected to launch in North America next year. With the Kia EV4 GT-Design variant, the EV sedan also offers the experience to an audience which craves a sportier design with bigger 19-inch wheels. The Kia Concept EV2 is expected to launch in 2026 in European markets as well as other markets.
