Kia Syros Acheived 5 stars In BNCAP, Performs Well In Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) & Child Occupant Protection (COP)
Kia Syros has scored 5 stars in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. It has scored impressively in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP). This makes Syros push the competition forward in delivering a safer experience in the segment.
BNCAP Test Results
The Kia Syros recorded 30.21 points out of 32.00 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). It also scored 44.42 points out of 49.00 points in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) under BNCAP’s strenuous testing protocols.
Additionally, the Syros also completed the critical crash tests, such as Frontal Deformable Barrier Test, Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test, and Pole Side Impact Test, necessary to obtain a comprehensive rating.
Adult Occupant Protection
In the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test, the Syros was able to score 14.21 out of 16 points. This showed good protection for key areas like the head, neck and chest. For the Side Impact Test, the Syros scored an impressive 16 out of 16 points. Other tests, including the Side Pole Impact Test, were completed with excellent results.
Child Occupant Protection
The Kia Syros scored 44.42 points out of the available 49 points in the Child Occupant Protection. It was able to secure this score after performing well in dynamic tests and Child Restraint System installation. In terms of individual scores, they are as follows:
- Dynamic Score: 23.42 out of 24.00
- CRS Installation Score: 12.00 out of 12.00
- Vehicle Assessment Score: 9.00 out of 13.00
Safety Equipment
Kia has also offered various safety equipment to prevent crashes, such as the available 16 autonomous technologies. This includes ADAS Level 2 and a 20-standard feature active and passive package. This makes it one of the safest SUVs with respect to equipment.
Outlook
The latest BNCAP certification is able to solidify the Kia Syros’ position in the sub-4-metre segment. This test has also assured almost 16000 customers who have bought the compact SUV since the start of 2025. This safety rating has also made it a high bar to be cleared by the rest of the competition in the Indian market.
