Kia Syros to be more than 4 metre long, will be positioned between Sonet & Seltos
Kia has confirmed the name of its upcoming compact SUV – the Syros. Positioned above the Kia Sonet in the company’s India line-up, the Syros is set to debut globally in the coming weeks, with an anticipated market launch in early 2025. Internally codenamed the “AY,” this SUV is poised to deliver a more premium experience than the Sonet, offering a distinct appeal to buyers looking for enhanced comfort, space and versatility.
Design
The Kia Syros draws design elements from some of Kia’s larger models, such as the EV9 and Carnival. Characterised by a boxy silhouette, flat roof and upright rear, the Syros is designed to maximise cabin space, especially in the rear seating area. This spacious configuration is expected to give it an edge over competitors in the compact SUV category.
Rear Seat Comfort
Kia plans to differentiate the Syros from other compact SUVs by emphasising rear-seat comfort. The Kia Syros will join the competitive compact SUV market in India, which includes established models such as the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and the recently introduced Skoda Kylaq.
