Kia Seltos (SP2i) has been spotted fully undisguised during a commercial shoot overseas.
The spied Kia Seltos (SP2i) is seen in a white paint scheme with a blacked out roof. The company had previously teased us with the sketches of the car. The actual crossover looks nearly identical to the sketches. The colour-contrasted roof is separated by metallic trim. The SP2i is named as the Seltos abroad but it could get another name in India.
The Kia Seltos sports faux metallic skid plates on the bumpers and gets a rising window line. The car is a bit more sculpted than most of Kia’s relatively organic designs of late. The grille is a sleek unit and is flanked by exquisite looking wraparound LED headlamps.
The DRLs seem to be placed below the main headlamp unit and merge perfectly with it to form an aggressive looking headlamp unit. The rear of the car is not as intimidating as the front but the LED tail lights look premium. The Kia logo is placed between the boot, housed between a sleek silver panel. The boot also sports 4WD and T-GDi logos and comes with rear wipers and faux exhaust outlets.
There are no images of the interiors but it will come with a large infotainment system and ambient lighting. Some sketches of the interiors also hint at the fact that the car could come with an off-road mode selector. The touchscreen is also expected to get a 360-degree camera and the car will also feature a wireless charging pad and head-up display.
The Kia Seltos (SP2i) will get a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel engine option. These engines will be compliant to the BS6 norms. Both the engines will come with manual and automatic transmission options. The company is already working on a sportier variant of the SP SUV that will come with a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 140 BHP. It will be paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
The car is expected to be priced between Rs. 10-16 lakhs (ex-showroom) and will go up against the Hyundai Creta, Renault Captur, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Jeep Compass and Nissan Kicks.
