Kia SP2i interior sketches reveal the design and features of the first Kia to launch in India.
About a week after teasing the exterior styling of their upcoming compact SUV, Kia has now revealed the interiors. Based on the Kia SP concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, the production version will feature very similar interior and exterior styling. The interior sketches reveal some of the features that will be offered with the Kia SP2i.
First thing that grabs your attention at a glance is the huge touchscreen infotainment system. The Korean carmaker has confirmed that it is a 10.25-inch display. It is expected to come with features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Navigation, etc. It is likely to be offered with connectivity features similar to Hyundai BlueLink with e-sim facility.
Another unique feature confirmed by Kia is the Sound Mood Lighting tech that alter’s the cabin’s lighting. The overall styling of the dashboard looks quite appealing with a layered pattern and usage of beige, black and brushed silver elements. The centre console looks well laid out and uncluttered. There is a grab-bar for the front passenger too adding some SUV character.
We have noticed quite a lot of features in these images. The instrument cluster gets a huge digital display as well and the images inside hint us about having adaptive cruise control on offer. There are steering mounted paddle shifts on offer and buttons for the infotainment system as well as cruise control.
There is an electronic parking brake button next to the cupholders. The buttons around the gear lever suggest that it’ll come with ventilated front seats, engine start/stop system, multiple steering modes and hill descent control function. Surprisingly the rotary knob next to the gear lever says ‘Off-Road’! It might be offered with AWD as an option too.
The exteriors of the SP2i look promising too. It gets a signature Tiger-nose grille dominating the front along with LED headlights and muscular bonnet. The rear profile also gets LED tail lights and a wide stance. The presence of skid plates and rugged elements makes us believe that AWD trim is on the cards. It is expected to make its debut in India next month.
