Kia Sonet production version official reveal has finally happened at its world premiere, held today. Ahead of the car’s debut, the South Korean manufacturer had been teasing customers with official design renderings and teaser images over the past few weeks. Not to mention the multiple spy images that we have seen too.
Third product from Kia to be launched in India, the Sonet official reveal confirms what we have seen earlier. Stylish is the first word that comes to mind when we see the car. Its “tiger nose” radiator grille with the “stepwell” geometric mesh, work well to give it that distinctive face.
Headlights are LED with DRLs, while the fog lamps are projector units, placed near the lower air dam that has got faux skid plate and a couple of air intake-like elements that seem to be blocked.
Down the sides, there are roof rails, blacked out roof, A and B pillars, 16-inch alloys, while at the back the LED taillight cluster stretches the entire width of the car. The bumper is deep and it gets a diffuser-like plastic element too.
Inside, the 10.25-inch touchscreen and navigation system dominates the well laid-out dash. The AC events are vertical, there adequate number of buttons for various functions. Kia has offered features like knurled toggles on the steering wheel too. Below is the list of features offered on the car:

Sonet customers have the choice of getting the car in a dual trim concept. This includes the sporty-looking GT-Line trim which adds multiple design and functional elements, both inside and out to the car.
Three engines will be offered with the compact SUV, mirroring that of the Hyundai Venue, its sister car. The choices will be – a 1.2-litre petrol engine with MT, 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol with MT, iMT and DCT and finally a 1.5-litre CRDI diesel engine with MT and AT.
Drive modes and traction modes will also be present on the Kia Sonet production version. Safety-wise the Kia Sonet will get six airbags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, ESC, HAC, VSM, TPMS and ISOFIX child seat points. Launch of the car is expected to take place this festive season and pricing is likely to be extremely competitive.
