Kia Sonet bookings have commenced in India from today and customers can book the compact SUV either at Kia’s dealerships or on the manufacturer’s official website for a token amount of Rs. 25,000/-.
The third car from the Korean manufacturer to be launched in India will be launched in global markets as well. But, in the first phase, the vehicle will be manufactured only in India and offered to customers here.
Later, Kia says, this will be followed by commencement of exports with the car being shipped to over 70 markets in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
Officially revealed earlier this month, the start of Kia Sonet bookings further strengthens the fact that the launch of the vehicle will take place in September.
The compact SUV will get several features like the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 57 UVO connected car features, ventilated front seats, LED sound mood lighting, BOSE premium 7-speaker audio system, OTA map updates, multi-drive and traction modes, among many others.
Overall, there are six variants to choose from and the Sonet will be offered in a dual trim concept such as Tech Line and GT-Line with exterior and interior changes differentiating the trims.
Multiple powertrain options are also offered on the Kia with a choice of two petrol engines – a Smartstream 1.2-litre 4-cylinder and a 1.0-litre T-GDi unit, while there is one diesel unit which is a 1.5-litre CRDi mill with two states of tune.
Transmission options are many, five to be precise, and this includes 5- and 6-speed manuals, new 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DCT.
