Kia Sonet 7-Seater Unveiled, To Be Launched Soon In Indonesia
The compact SUV gains extra seats and some features as well.
The unveil of the Kia Sonet 7-seater variant has taken place and it is set to be launched in the Indonesian market soon.
Looking exactly like the 5-seater Sonet sold in the Southeast Asian country, the new variant of the compact SUV sees only a couple of seats added onto what will traditionally be the space for luggage.
Now, the second row seats slide and tumble to allow for more space and entry to the rear seats where there are 3-point seat belts and adjustable headrests for 2 occupants.
When not in use, the third row seats can be folded flat or moved to rest against the second row bench to create some cargo space, for, when the last row seats are in space, there is no boot space as such.
Along with the 7-seater Kia Sonet unveil, the manufacturer announced that the car now comes with roof-mounted air vents and, as standard, it gets UVO connectivity tech.
Other features offered with the car include height adjustable driver seat, digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, among others.
Powering the car is a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque. Gearbox options that the car comes with include a 6-speed manual and an 8-speed IVT.
Manufactured in the Southern State of Andhra Pradesh, the Sonet 7-seater should cost a bit more than the 5-seat variant in Indonesia, where it will first be put on sale.
