All-electric Kia Seltos under development for India launch in 2020.
Kia has entered the Indian market with instant success. The South Korean carmaker is churning out huge volumes of the Seltos every month. They have recently sold 14,000 units of the car in one month.
While Kia plans to introduce more products in India, they are also working on an all-electric version of the Seltos for the Asian markets. The Kia Seltos EV is expected to be launched in India by the end of 2020.
The production of the all-electric Seltos will commence globally in August 2020. The electric powertrain is likely to be shared with the Hyundai Kona and Kia Soul, which is a 204 HP electric motor with 64 kWh battery pack.
The total driving range of the Kia Seltos EV is expected to be 400 km on a single charge. South Korea will get the electric Kia Seltos first followed by India.
The Seltos EV will compete with the likes of MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona in the Indian market. Seems like the battle between Kia and MG Motor will continue in the electric vehicle space in India.
