Kia EV6 Bookings Open, Launch On 2nd June

The front gets dual LED headlamps with adaptive beam and drls with sequential indicators

Kia EV6 bookings commence for a token amount of Rs. 3 lakhs, only 100 units reserved for the Indian market

Bookings for Kia India’s first electric SUV, EV6, have officially commenced today. Only 100 units of the car will be reserved for the Indian market and bookings would be on first-come-first-served basis.

The electric car can be reserved for a token amount of Rs. 3 lakhs through Kia’s select 15 dealerships across 12 cities. Customers can also log on to Kia India website using the link – www.kia.com/in/ to place the order for EV6. The launch will take place on 2nd June.

Based on Hyundai Group’s Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV6 is added with new age technology and features.

The car will be available in India in exclusive GT Line trims that get unique features like augmented reality head-up display, smart power tail gate, body-coloured exterior flush door handles, and Meridian sound system with 14 speakers.

The 5-seater runs on 19-inch 235/55 tires

Kia claims the EV6 can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in matter of just 18 minutes while the car can be driven for 100 km in just 4.5 minutes of charging.

The EV6’s maximum range is 528 km (WLTP cycle) from the lone 77.4 kWh battery pack which means real-world range should be easily above 400 km.

The SUV comes with the option of either single-motor rear-wheel drive or dual-motor all-wheel drive system. The 5-seater runs on 19-inch 235/55 tires.

While the single motor puts out 229 PS and 350 Nm, the dual-motor’s combined output is 325 PS and 605 Nm. The electric car can hit the ton in 3.5 seconds making it one of the fastest accelerating EVs in the country.

On the outside, the front gets dual LED headlamps with adaptive beam and drls with sequential indicators. At the rear, there’s a prominent spoiler with rear LED tail light and fog lamps. On top, there’s an electric sunroof with UV cut solar glass.

When it comes to the interiors, the seats are made of Suede leather made of vegan materials. The ambiance is brightened up by 64-colour mood lights.

Finally, the electric car features 10 different ADAS functions as well. Some of them include forward collision avoidance, lane keep assist, and driver attention warning.

Following the EV6 launch, Kia will also launch another affordable electric SUV e-Niro before its much-awaited entry-level locally manufactured electric SUV hits our shores by 2025.
