Kia Carens recall issued for over 30,000 units
Kia Motors has announced a recall of the Carens MPV in India, citing a potential software glitch that could impact the digital instrument cluster booting sequence. Approximately 30,297 units of the Carens, manufactured between September 2022 and February 2023, are affected by this issue.
The carmaker is reaching out to owners of the affected vehicles to inform them about the recall. Kia is inspecting the affected cars and providing a necessary software update to rectify the issue.
The identified glitch may cause the instrument cluster in the affected vehicles to go blank due to a software error.
This recent recall is not the first for the Carens MPV. In October 2023, Kia recalled approximately 44,174 units to address a potential issue related to the airbag control unit software.
Owners of the affected Carens MPV units are encouraged to respond promptly to the recall notification and contact their nearest Kia service centre to schedule an inspection and software update. Kia will bear the costs associated with this recall, ensuring that owners receive the necessary support and service to rectify the problem.
