Kia states the Carens is a recreational vehicle
Kia India has revealed that it has christened its upcoming car the ‘Carens’, which is based on the concept of ‘Car + Renaissance’.
The Korean car manufacturer calls its new product a Recreational Vehicle (RV) and claims rather boldly that the Carens will revolutionise the market and redefine family commuting in the country.
According to Kia, the Carens is a family-oriented premium vehicle that will come with high-tech features, practicality and the “boldness of an SUV”.
The fourth product for the Indian market will come with 3 rows of seats, and unique light signatures on the exterior. The brand, through a recent video, showed the DRLs of the Carens along with its sleek tail lights.
It is expected to be powered by the same powertrains as the ones doing duty in the Seltos and should come with features such as full-LED lights, digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen, UVO connected car tech and smartphone connectivity, to name a few.
To debut on 16th December 2021 and be launched in the first quarter of 2022 in India, the Kia Carens will be manufactured at the brand’s facility at Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh.
