Keeway To Make India Debut With New Cruiser Unveil On 17th May

The unveil is set to happen this month

Hungarian manufacturer Keeway is likely to unveil its K-Lite cruiser on 17th May followed by launch

Hungarian motorcycle manufacturer Keeway is set to make its maiden entry into India with the likely unveil of its K-Lite cruiser. The manufacturer has also shot a Block-Your-Date invite.

Though Keeway has its roots in Hungary, it’s currently owned by the famous QJ Group of China that also owns the Italian brand, Benelli. Of late, QJ and Benelli are in the news for a complete powertrain refresh as the former is on a patenting spree of its new engines which are reportedly inspired from KTM’s units.

Keeway is quite popular the world over for its small cruisers, scooters, street bikes, and off-roaders predominantly powered by a 125 cc mill. Their cruiser designs are inspired from the Harley-Davidson roadsters although not in size as Keeway models are small.

Keeway K-Lite 125 is quite popular worldwide

Coming to the invite, it sports the outline of the rear portion of the bike which is nothing but the K-Lite Cruiser. But reports say, it won’t feature the 125 cc mill as seen worldwide but the 500 cc twin cylinder engine from Benelli’s 502C or the Imperiale’s 350 cc single as they both are BS6 complaint now. This is just likely but not confirmed!

As far as design goes, the K-Lite gets a simplistic low-slung cruiser design with a single piece seat. The slim tank ends in the 2 side panels followed by a short mudguard. There’s a rear tyre hugger also housing the number plate holder, a setup already seen on the Benelli 502C. The knobby tyres are slapped on to alloy wheels with disc brakes at both ends. The cruiser gets round lamps all over with a flat handlebar.

As of now, we don’t know the bike’s price tag as we don’t know which engine it’s gonna sport. But, if it comes with the 500 cc twin, then expect a price tag of Rs 5.5 lakhs (ex-showroom).
