The price hike still makes the ZX-10RR a good value for money proposition.
Planning to buy a new Kawasaki ZX-10RR? There’s a slight hitch as you will have to save some more money if you have already managed to save the ex-showroom price of Rs. 16.10 lakhs of the bike. Kawasaki India has increased the price of the locally assembled ZX-10RR by Rs. 88,000/-.
The heavily localised Kawasaki ZX-10RR went on sale in India only a few months back at an introductory price. So a price hike was expected to be given sooner or later. What is interesting is that the Kawasaki ZX-10R still continues to have the same price of Rs. 12.80 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The Kawasaki ZX-10RR is basically a more track focussed version of the Kawasaki ZX-10R. It is powered by a 998cc engine that produces 197.2 HP and 113.5 Nm of peak torque. The power output further increases by about ten horses with RAM Air. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox that also features a quick-shifter. The additional price also gets you Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres, forged aluminium wheels, Brembo M50 brake calipers with a radial master cylinder and a modified cylinder head along with reinforced crankcases.
Even after the price hike, the Kawasaki ZX-10RR is still plenty of value for money. It competes with the Suzuki GSX-R1000, BMW S 1000 RR and Ducati Panigale V4 all of which are priced at Rs. 19.86 lakhs, Rs. 17.90 lakhs and Rs. 20.53 lakhs respectively (all prices, ex-showroom, Mumbai).
