The asking price of the Kawasaki Z650RS is Rs. 41,000/- more than what the Z650 costs
Kawasaki has launched the Z650RS in India and has set an asking price of Rs. 6.65 lakhs (ex-showroom) for the middleweight motorcycle.
Available in Candy Emerald Green and Metallic Moonlight Grey colourways, the retro-style bike has full-LED lights and twin dial instrumentation with an LCD screen in the middle.
Built on a steel trellis frame that weighs 13.5 kg, the middleweight machine, says the Japanese brand, has relaxed ergonomics thanks in part to the wide and flat handlebar and a seat that is 800 mm high.
Powering the bike that weighs 192 kg (wet) is a 649cc parallel twin motor making 68 PS at 8000 RPM and 64 Nm of torque at 6700 RPM. It is teamed to a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and slipper clutch.
Riding on 17-inch wheels with 120/70-section front and 160/60-section rear rubber, the Z650RS price gets customers 41 mm telescopic front fork (125 mm travel) and a pre-load adjustable rear shock (130 mm travel). The motorcycle has 125 mm of ground clearance.
Stopping power comes from dual semi-floating 300 mm discs with dual piston calipers up front and a single 220 mm petal disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear.
