Kawasaki has launched the Vulcan S BS6 with a price tag of Rs. 5.79 lakhs (ex-showroom) in India, which is Rs. 30,000 costlier than the BS4 model.
While the design of the bike has not changed in comparison with the model that is more harmful to the atmosphere, thus, the oval headlamp, fuel tank, split seats, among other design elements remain unchanged.
What has changed this time around is the colour the bike is offered with as the BS6 Vulcan S comes with only a single paint option – Metallic Flat Raw Graystone with red paint stripes.
Powering the middleweight cruiser is a 649cc parallel-twin motor that now makes 61 PS of max power at 7500 RPM and 62.4 Nm of peak torque at 6600 RPM. The 235 kg bike has a seat height of 705 mm, ground clearance of 130 mm and a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres.
The frame is still of perimeter type, while the suspension duty is carried out by 41 mm telescopic forks with 130 mm travel upfront and an offset monoshock that is preload adjustable with 80 mm travel at the back.
Braking duty is carried out by a single 300 mm disc with dual piston caliper at the front and a 250 mm disc with a single piston caliper at the back.
Of course, the Kawasaki Vulcan S BS6 price also gets owners the option to play around with the ergonomic setup on the bike to suit their needs.
