The Cafe edition of the Kawasaki Vulcan differentiates itself with a new windshield and three-tone paintjob while the SE edition gets a new two-tone paint scheme.
Kawasaki has introduced two new special editions of the Vulcan S at the AIMExpo in Florida, USA slated for the 2016 model year. Joining the MY2016 Ninja ZX-10R, KLR650 Matrix Camo Grey edition and the ZX-14R SE models, the Kawasaki Vulcan S now gets the new Cafe and SE editions. Starting with the Vulcan S Cafe, the cruiser gets a new three-tone paint scheme on the tank comprising of Matte Carbon Gray and Black and a Candy Lime Green stripe running down the middle of the bike.
There is also a new dark tinted windshield to visually differentiate the 2016 Kawasaki Vulcan S Cafe from the standard model. The windshield though is the only most noticeable change that gets mounted over the headlight and helps reduce wind blast deflecting the flow of air away from the rider. For those who already have a Vulcan S, fret not, the windshield is also available as an accessory for the standard model and can be installed with the help of a mounting bracket accessory.
In terms of power, the 2016 Kawasaki Vulcan S gets no mechanical changes with power coming from the same 649cc parallel twin-cylinder engine tuned to produce 61 HP and 62 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed transmission. The bike comes with 41 mm telescopic front forks and an offset monoshock suspension setup at the rear. ABS now comes as standard on the Vulcan S Cafe and is priced at a $600 premium over the standard version at $7999 (Rs. 5.18 lakhs).
In addition to the Cafe version, Kawasaki has announced the Vulcan S SE special edition model that comes with a new two-tone paint job comprising of Metallic Imperial Blue and Metallic Spark Black with matching blue pin stripes on the wheels. Like the Cafe edition, the Vulcan S SE gets no mechanical changes with power coming from the same 649cc motor. ABS though is now standard on the model. The SE edition is priced the same as the standard model at $7399 (Rs. 4.79 lakhs).
