Kawasaki Recalls Ninja 300 For ABS Malfunction

Kawasaki has recently announced a recall for the Ninja 300. Many of you might be crumbling as the company has not been offering the Ninja 300 with ABS in India. Yes, the recall is not happening in our country but in North America. The recall is concerned with ABS mechanism that can malfunction under certain braking situations. Being a safety feature or we can say one of the most crucial safety system while riding, improper functioning of the ABS unit can lead to accidents.

Kawasaki says that during the manufacturing of ABS pump, it is possible that it may retain dust particles that can cause the dysfunction of the ABS in severe conditions. The recall will be made for approximately 1083 units, produced between August 16, 2012 and April 2, 2013. Kawasaki has instructed the dealers and the company will notify the concerned owners through an informative email.

The recall exercise is expected to start from 6th August and the dealers will inspect and if necessary, the defective ABS pump will be replaced at priority basis without any charge. The 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 ABS was launched last year in the US market. This Kwacker competes with the Honda CBR500R and Hyosung GT250R in certain markets but in India, it has no direct competition. Bajaj Auto assembles the Ninja 300 in India via CKD kits.
